On February 8th, our 1st and 2nd graders put on a fantastic concert based on the book, The Day the Crayons Came Home!
The concert was a sequel of the 3rd and 4th grade concert in December (The Day the Crayons Quit). CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE! The following morning, our 4th graders participated in the String Discovery program put on by the Grand Rapids Symphony. Students had a private performance from Symphony Orchestra string players and then learned how to play the violin/viola! What an eventful week it was for our budding musicians! CONGRATULATIONS to our 3rd and 4th grade students on two successful performances at last night's Drive basketball game!
The 3rd graders were the feature Prime Time performance, dancing to Shakira's "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" while 4th grade was the featured National Anthem group. Wonderful job!! Thank you to all teachers and parents for attending the game! CONGRATULATIONS to our 3rd and 4th grade students on an amazing "Day the Crayons Quit" concert on December 1st! It was a fun time had by all! In addition to the concert, congratulations to our 4th grade Chorus on a fantastic performance of the National Anthem at the Grand Rapids Griffins Hockey game on Friday the 4th!

On Wednesday April 1st, we celebrated the talents of our 2nd-4th graders! Mrs. Mason and Putnam's 1st grade class had a special performance, as well as our 4th grade Chorus. Our teaching staff also compiled a video of "What Teachers Do After School!"

This is the Grand Rapids Drive's inaugural year! To our 1st/2nd grade teachers, parents, superintendent Dr. Paskewicz, principal Mrs. Teya Cotter, auditorium manager Mr. Mike Frank, accompanist Mrs. Michele Wells, and our 4th grade Chorus, THANK YOU for your support and help in making this concert a success! We look forward to many more great concerts like this one! Enjoy the pictures below. These past two weeks have been like a whirlwind of events for the Music department! On December 2nd, our 3rd and 4th grade students put on a fantastic Winter Concert, featuring 65 soloists, over 25 instruments, and 150+ singers! The following week, our 4th grade Chorus performed the National Anthem at the Grand Rapids Griffins game! It was a well attended crowd and the students had a great time watching the game after their performance. Thanks to the generosity of a Chorus parent, the students received T-Shirts for their erp Last Friday, North Oakview students participated in the All-School Sing Along! It was a great way to start off the weekend and get into the holiday cheer! Even our staff had a special performance in the show, doing a lip-dub to the Muppets' 12 Days of Christmas! That following Saturday, our 4th grade Chorus visited Vista Springs Community and sang some Christmas carols to the seniors. The students had a great time spreading the cheer to those who were home-bound for the holidays. |
